		<description>There should be more of an emphasis during the PhD about all these other tasks like peer reviewing and grant writing. The journals should also change a bit how they access the pool or researchers. Even within the same publishing house they to not have a shared database of referees with information on subject area and performance. They could also participate more directly in teaching students how to peer review. One of the best ways to learn is to read the comments from other referees but apart from Biology Direct and in some cases PLoS ONE there is no access to these reports.</description>
